Ascent Soccer all set to make their international debut

Ascent Soccer's U16 boys arrived in Iceland last week and they're already getting plenty of attention across the country and the continent.

This very competitive squad features four Malawi youth internationals and a depth of talent eager to showcase their skills abroad for the very first time.

In preparation for their opening match at the Rey Cup on Thursday (full schedule below), the boys claimed two friendly successes versus professional academy sides this week, including a 5-0 win at 2nd division Afturelding and a 6-1 victory at 1st division youth side Víkingur Reykjavík.

And the support and generosity we've received from the Reykjavík community has been incredible! Along with a successful online fundraiser that helped support our trip, local businesses have been amazing in providing our stay, gear, meals, entertainment, sightseeing . . . you name it!
