Ascent Soccer U20s & Premier League striker make waves in Malawi

Both the Ascent Soccer youth and our Lingadzi campus have been shining on the international stage.

Ascent's up-and-coming youth talent, Julius Banda (18), Hermas Masinja (18), Mwisho Mhango (16) and Washari Jaziya (18), made a major impact with Malawi's U20 men's national team last week.

The 'Junior Flames' claimed the '4 Nations' tournament with wins over Zimbabwe and Kenya. Mwisho and Hermas (left) celebrate with the trophy.

This was huge accomplishment for Malawi and all four Ascent boys, with Washari captaining the U20 squad and Mwisho, captain of the U17s, getting the start in the tournament opener at just 16 years of age.

Our campus was also featured this week, as we hosted the Zambian senior national team, and Leicester's Patson Daka (pictured with our academy boys above), for a training session. With a '4 Nations' event also happening for the senior men, our Lingadzi campus was selected as international team ready!

Congrats to our scholars and staff on this much-deserved success.
